Tractiv has developed a software platform that provides visibility and security for market data transactions in the financial industry via an immutable centralized ledger, a critical component of our solution architecture. Market data are trade records, business intelligence, and other proprietary information used to understand and inform investment decisions. Customers in this $32 billion industry include large financial exchanges who produce market data, consolidated market data vendors who resell data, and data end-users such as banks and trading firms. Financial exchanges and consolidated vendors lose millions of dollars a year from illicit redistribution and contract violations. Data end-users pay too much for data they do not need. They are also vulnerable to audits, litigation from violating licensing agreements, and inefficiencies with regard to how data is used internally. Consolidated data vendors purchase and sell market data and thus suffer from both types of pains.
