Personal information is any information that specifically identifies a customer, user, or individual. For example, personal information may include, but is not necessarily limited to, a name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, or Social Security Number. Personal information also includes demographic information such as date of birth, gender, geographic area, preferences, and any other personally-identifiable information. Personal Information does not include “aggregate” information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or customers, from which individual customer identities have been removed. For example, information about how a customer uses a product may be collected and combined with information about how others use the same product, with no personal information included in the resulting data. Aggregate data helps us understand trends and customer needs so that we can better consider new products and services, and tailor existing products and services to customer demands.
