SenzaGen is a Swedish in vitro test lab company which offers animal-free testing of chemical compounds using genomics-based methodology for immunotoxicological assays. Our proprietary lead product family, GARD, potentially replaces the need for animal testing in the cosmetic, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. GARD utilizes genomic biomarker signatures of hundreds of genes relevant for hazard prediction. Doing so, it predicts and classifies chemical sensitizers with superior predictive accuracy. A dermal test (GARDskin) is commercially available on the market through the lab at headquarters in Lund and distributors in the US. The R&D of SenzaGen is founded on a deep know-how of the immune system and its reaction to hazardous agents, such as irritants and allergens. The company was formed in 2010 as a spin-out from the research being performed at the Department of Immunotechnology at the Faculty of Engineering, Lund University.
