The Stamford Tent & Equipment Company Inc. was founded in 1953. In the beginning the company supplied tents, tables, chairs and carnival equipment for carnivals, festivals, horseshows and the occasional backyard barbecue or wedding. Today, we are the largest combined tent and event services company in the tri-state area, and one of the largest in the United States. In 1967, Donald Frost purchased an A to Z general rental franchise consisting of tools, machinery, and medical and party rental equipment. That same year he also acquired Stamford Tent from its original founder. Don felt that tents would be a good compliment to his general rental business. In 1971, after a brief illness, Donald Frost passed away. The management of the business was then taken over by his wife, Marian. The current president, Steve Frost, joined the business part-time in 1967 and as a full-time driver installer in 1972. Tim Frost, the current Vice President, joined the firm part-time in 1976 and as a full-time driver in 1980. Together, Steve and Tim have grown the company to its current position as the industry leader in the tri-state area. Over the years the company has made several major changes.
