Youth Town is a highly structured residential treatment program for young boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17 that is Christ centered and incorporates the 12 step structure of AA and NA. Youth referred for admission to the program will have been identifies by a mental health professional and/or alcohol and drug professional as meeting the DSM-IV criteria of having a substance dependency diagnosis. Youth Challenge is designed to help children who have just begun to have trouble. Common problems include but are not limited to: substance abuse, assault, theft, vandalism, truancy and problems at home. Youth Challenge is a highly structured, adventure-based residential program that over the course of eight weeks helps youth to understand they are responsible for their behavior and the consequences of that behavior.
