Food Lifeline is the Western Washington affiliate of America's Second Harvest. As Washington's largest hunger relief agency Food Lifeline is working to provide nutritious food to hungry people in Western Washington. Each year Food Lifeline rescues and distributes nearly 22 million pounds of food to its network of food banks, meal programs and shelters in 17 counties of Western Washington, feeding over half a million hungry people. In Western Washington hunger causes families to have to make difficult choices: 51% of the hungry people Food Lifeline serves must choose between food and paying for heat, 40% must choose between food and paying for medicine or medical care, and 40% must choose between food and rent. As supporters of Food Lifeline's mission to end hunger, you are a part of the network that is working together to create change to ensure that hungry families do not have to go without a meal, and hungry children get the proper nutrition to meet the challenges of learning in school.
