Charles Kloster founded the company in 1922. In the early '50s, Charles turned it over to his sons George and Bernard Kloster to continue the tradition of quality in concrete work and general building. In 1985, Richard Grebel and Douglas Jones and 3 others purchased the company from George and Bernard, and expanded the company into public work involving concrete. In 1995, when the remaining Klosters left the firm, the company changed its name to KCI Construction. The next generation of the company began in 2008, when Doug began sale of the company to Jon Schenk, Tom Huster and Brent Krueger. Today, we continue the Kloster's strong tradition in concrete work and general building. The projects we've completed are as diverse as they are well known; many are St. Louis landmarks.
