The St. Bernard Project removes barriers for families who wish to move back to their homes in St. Bernard Parish. The problems we face are easily solved: all we need are funding and volunteers. We run a Support-A-Family program that provides volunteer labor and building supplies, as well as a Tool Co-Op and Community Center. The St. Bernard Project was started in March 2006 by four volunteers who went to St. Bernard Parish to do relief work. During our initial month of service, we met residents who were courageous, spirited and determined to rebuild their lives and community.
