Mason General Hospital is one of the largest public employers in Mason County. It was first built in 1968 thanks to the generous support of the residents of Mason County. An additional 29,000 square feet were added in 1992, along with many major improvements. The hospital is part of the "Mason General Hospital Family of Clinics" - Oakland Bay Pediatrics, Shelton Family Medicine, MGH Shelton Orthopedics,MGH Surgery Clinic, MGH Eye Clinic and Mtn. View Women's Health Clinic. These combined, have given the theme, "Where caring counts. Feel the difference," added reach. MGH is a complete, full-service medical facility which includes an emergency department that is staffed by board qualified/certified emergency services physicians and an intensive care unit that extends privacy to the most critical patients.
