PolySystems, Inc. was founded in 1970 to respond to a need for commercial actuarial applications for the insurance industry. Initially, service was provided via a timesharing arrangement. In the mid 1980's, Roger Smith and Tom Herget took over as owners of the corporation. They implemented a plan to expand PolySystems' products and services.
