Through our deep powertrain expertise, Means partners with OEM engineers to research, design, test and produce pioneering, fuel-efficient powertrain components and assemblies. Means pursues its advanced powertrain technology goals with its Propulsion Systems and TransForm Products businesses.
Means Propulsion Systems focuses product development on highly controllable mechanical shifting elements that reduce energy loss and mass in transmissions and drivelines. Such mechanical shifting devices can foster new architectures by augmenting or replacing less optimal shifting elements. TransForm Products provides the metal forming expertise required to produce the most challenging geometries needed for the latest transmissions. TransForm utilizes its In-Die Spline Forming, Flow Forming, Grob Forming, Laser Welding, and Machining capabilities to meet stringent specifications while maintaining high levels of quality and process control in the manufacture of transmission Hubs, Housings, Carriers and Welded Assemblies.
