About
The Matthews House is a 501(c)3 organization serving Northern Colorado. Our mission is to empower youth and families in transition who lack a significant support network by providing the resources and relationships necessary for them to take control of their lives and shape positive futures for themselves, while becoming successful contributors to their community. What started as a single service to assist disadvantaged youth has flourished into a multi-service organization assisting not only individuals and families involved in human service systems, but the community at large. At The Matthews House we firmly believe in growing stronger, together. Current Programs at The Matthews House: The Empowering Youth Program serves youth aged 14-21 who lack significant family support in their lives as they transition into adulthood. Many are or have been a part of the foster care or juvenile justice system. The Strengthening Families Program provides one-on-one facilitation to help disadvantaged families build resiliency. We help families navigate difficulties in the areas of parenting, money management, job readiness and healthy relationships. The Building Community Program is housed at The Matthews House's two Community Life Centers (CLCs). The CLCs serve as consolidated locations for vital services and specialized, enriching programs that reduce barriers so participants can attain what they need to learn, improve and become self-sufficient.
