Operating as US Airways Express, PSA Airlines flies about 7 million passengers a year. The regional carrier operates a fleet of 30 turboprop Dornier 328 planes, but is anxiously awaiting an upgrade. Parent US Airways plans to bolster PSA's fleet with new, more efficient regional jets. The jets are part of plan to reduce costs for both PSA and US Airways, both of which emerged from bankruptcy in 2003. The airlines serves about 20 destinations, mostly cities in the Midwest. PSA Airlines along with other US Airways subsidiaries Allegheny Airlines and Piedmont Airlines, as well as six other independent partners, comprise US Airways Express.
