About
Established as a non-profit organization in 1994, the mission of EBI has always been to support people with disabilities to live on their own, work in competitive employment settings, and become empowered to make choices, take risks, and advocate for the resources they need to live as independently as possible.\n\nWith 180 full and part-time staff, EBI provides services to more than 450 individuals with disabilities including autism, brain injuries, cerebral palsy and/or cognitive, visual or hearing impairments. EBI’s Board of Directors includes volunteers who provide expertise and direction in such areas as fair housing law, finance, health care policy, personal attendant management, physical modifications for accessibility, and fundraising, etc.\n\nThe mission of East Bay Innovations is to arrange and provide personalized support that enables individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities to live in their own homes, work in jobs of their choosing, and feel a sense of membership in their community.\n\nWe strive to understand each person’s hopes and aspirations as well as needs for support. We work in partnership with the person and their close friends and family to provide services that reflect what the individual wants. The people we serve direct their EBI services as much as they can. We help people strive for independence when possible, and we provide assistance when independence is not possible. We believe in services that are flexible and change over time as people change.
