It all started with the munchies...\n\nAt 3:00 AM Freshman year, we were hungry for chicken wings. Although wing joints were abundant in the South, we were shocked to find none in Austin. We decided if no one else had the pluck to do it, we'd have to do it ourselves. We knew we had a great idea when we were the only ones not serving chili at a student chili cookoff, but we still had the longest line. Hundreds of hungry University of Texas students gave us their feedback and we were sold out of the 1000 lbs of wings we had cooked at our fraternity house that morning. That was when we decided to get serious about making our dream a reality. So, we put together some money and built our original location in UT's west campus which we opened on July 23, 1995 - exactly one day after we graduated from college. \n\nNext we knew...\n\nWe had our own fan following and we started being recognized as the best sports bar and chicken wing restaurant in the cities we are located. In fact, in 2012, USA Today named Pluckers one of the â??Top 10 Wing Restaurantsâ?? in America. Later that year, ESPN named Pluckers one of the "Top 5 Sports Bars in North America".\n\nKeeping it fresh...\n\nWe make wings for people who know the difference. The difference between fresh and frozen. Between hand crafted sauce recipes and something squeezed through an industrial tube. We layer on flavor instead of trying to cover it up. Fresh breading for fresh chicken for a fresh made-to-order meal. If you're fine eating wings out of a cardboard boat, go for it, but we think you deserve better. We work hard to make them something we could be proud of. \n\nIn the future...\n\nWe'll continue to grow and we have all of our loyal customers and fans to thank for that. To all of them, we say thank you so much and hope we can bring more Pluckers restaurants your way...Oh, and for everyone else..."If you don't like our wings, we'll give you the bird."
