The Oregon Lottery is both a public trust and a market-driven business. Oregon voters established their lottery in 1984 with a constitutional amendment, and have since defined most of the ways in which lottery profits are distributed. When we say “We Do Good Things” we are referring to the $9 billion of Lottery profits that have been transferred to the State of Oregon to fund critical programs such as education, economic development, state parks, watershed enhancement, Veteran services, and outdoor school. The Lottery also funds 100 percent of gambling addiction treatment statewide.
