Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) is a leading regional theater company that produces, develops, and presents entertaining and imaginative contemporary theater focused on the American experience. PTC balances its Philadelphia roots with a national point of view that combines a taste for adventure with a dedication to new American plays and musicals.

Philadelphia Theatre Company has long held the contemporary American playwright at the core of its mission. World premieres produced include Terrence McNally’s Golden Age, Unusual Acts of Devotion, Some Men, and three-time Tony Award-winner Master Class; Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel, starring Kathleen Turner; the PTC-commissioned The Happiness Lecture, conceived by and starring Bill Irwin; Being Alive with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and directed by Billy Porter; Adrift in Macao by Christopher Durang and Peter Melnick; Bruce Graham’s According to Goldman; John Henry Redwood’s No Niggers, No Jews...; J.T.
