The fuel is NH3 which is currently used as fertilizer and as a refrigerant but is also an energy-dense liquid fuel. Liquid fuel synthesis from clean energy is the next critical technology for sustainable energy. Our synthesis system can quickly ramp up and down to follow variations in wind and solar power. This is something existing plants are unable to do. We have patents pending on a high-rate NH3 catalyst and a process for collecting the NH3 product that allows us to operate at low pressures. These are the keys to our Rapid Ramp technology. NH3 has been demonstrated as a fuel since the late 1800s. It can be used in engines, turbines, fuel cells, and burners without the need for significant modifications.
