The partnership of Gilsanz Murray Steficek, headquartered in New York City with offices in New Jersey and Los Angeles, was formed in 1991 by Ramon Gilsanz, Philip Murray and Gary Steficek to provide full-service structural engineering. The partners combined experience totals more than 80 years, during which time they have designed and managed many high profile projects. We are currently engaged in providing structural engineering services for a wide range of new construction and restoration projects. Our new projects include tall office towers, theaters, housing, educational buildings, sports facilities and special structures. Renovation and rehabilitation are a valued part of our practice. Over the years we have established a store of creative and effective solutions to draw upon. Our clients include architects, public and non-public institutions, building managers and property owners, developers, contractors, corporations and engineers in other trades. In July, 1999 Joseph Blanchfield, an architect with over 25 years of experience (21 years at the New York office of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, LLP) joined the firm in order to bring a new dimension to the practice: building envelope design consulting. This effort has dovetailed very well with the traditional structural engineering practice of the firm. Our building envelope work includes the design of new facades, roofs and waterproofing systems, and the restoration of existing facades, roofs and waterproofing systems. GMS's efforts with respect to façade consulting, have been particularly successful. 2003 was a landmark year with the opening of two new offices. In May, we opened our New Jersey office in Newark, headed by Anthony Pagnotta, Associate Partner with the firm. Then in September, Anders Carlson joined GMS as Group Director of our new Los Angeles office. Professional competence is a high priority. Our staff has experience in the most advanced composite and tensile systems, construction technology, and innovative use of materials. The firm's leaders involve themselves in professional societies and publish technical papers relevant to structural design. Everyone is proud to be part of Gilsanz Murray Steficek, and proud of the respect we have earned in a short span of time. We are dedicated to building the future reputation on our firm's exceptional service to clients and their projects.Gilsanz Murray Steficek Address
