About
DAC International, Inc. is an avionics sales and distribution company that specializes in the sale and distribution of sophisticated avionics products, systems and test equipment to the world's airlines, corporate aircraft, modification centers, aircraft manufacturers, special mission, and military markets. In support of our clients, DAC's dedicated sales professionals offer a combined total of over 160-man-years experience serving these markets. DAC has established 392 dealerships around the world for the sale and support of products we distribute. DAC International, Inc. was organized in 1980 by Terry Armstrong and Michael Crouch. With 16 years experience as Marketing Directors of a Fortune 500 Aerospace Corporation, they recognized the avionics business opportunities that exist world-wide. Company operations started in August of 1981. Mr. Armstrong and Mr. Crouch saw an unfilled niche in the marketplace that needed responsive suppliers with qualified knowledge of the industry and its products. This niche was the sale of successful U.S.A. products to international markets not actively sold by manufacturers. The DAC concept was to identify a group of companies which produced quality products but could not justify an in-house international marketing arm. DAC has since gained extensive product expertise and market knowledge, which has become the trademark of excellence for the company. DAC now enjoys a world-wide reputation for professionalism in its ability to solve client needs with quality products and services. During the start-up phase, Armstrong and Crouch found that avionics manufacturing organizations were not interested in used equipment that is displaced by the new. DAC strategically offered to buy back the used equipment as a service to it's clients and an additional revenue source for the company. DAC's extensive knowledge of world-wide buyers and sellers combined with a broad base of manufacturers became an excellent resource when working with the airlines, aircraft OEMs, executive aviation dealerships and brokerage companies. As DAC's success with the approach grew, they were approached by major equipment manufacturers for exclusive sales contracts. During 1986, Tracor Aerospace management decided that DAC could better serve Tracor as their Omega/VLF sales arm than using in-house efforts. DAC took over many of the highly capable, yet under-utilized sales representatives of Tracor Aerospace. Within a year, Tracor Commercial Sales had increased three hundred percent! DAC International, Inc., an operating subsidiary of The Fairchild Corporation, is a leading avionics marketing and sales company specializing in sophisticated avionics products, turn-key solutions, and avionics test equipment for the world's airlines, corporate aircraft, modification centers, aircraft manufacturers, special mission and military markets and general aviation. DAC's alliance agreements include: Universal Avionics Systems Corporation, Heads Up Technologies, Demo Systems, MapTech, Avidyne, DMA, Litef, Aircell, Shadin, Scotty, Technosonics, Aero Express, ASI, and Linaire.
