About
In line with Brinker & Doyen's mission to provide our clients with outstanding and cost effective representation, the firm utilizes its secretarial and paralegal staff where appropriate. Technology is another valuable resource to keep costs down and to ensure superior representation. For example, more and more legal research is done by CD or on line making traditional law firm libraries obsolete. Members of our firm are familiar with the effective use of the Internet to efficiently research the latest developments in the law. We recently implemented an Internet-based research software that allows our attorneys to access from outside the office any case law from any jurisdiction. In addition, through MoBarNet and the Internet, the firm has access to current court minutes and the status of dockets throughout much of the bi-state area without costly trips to the courthouse. We also use a service provided by Legal Communications Corporation named DataTrac which notifies us of any new lawsuit instituted against our clients in select venues. Use of telephones and video conferencing often saves cross state travel for court appearances and depositions. We are members of TrialNet, a nationwide internet-based network of defense counsel and their clients which provides a database of pleadings, expert witness CV's and depositions, and the ability to problem solve on-line with colleagues around the country. Our clients who are making the transition to paperless files are gradually communicating with us exclusively by telephone or e-mail. All of our attorneys and staff have computers which are networked, and we look forward to integrating and sharing our system with our clients.
