About
Wilton Park is a global forum for strategic discussion organising over 60 events a year in the UK and overseas, bringing together leading representatives from the worlds of politics, business, academia, diplomacy, civil society and media. As a frontline diplomatic asset for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, we focus on issues of international security, prosperity and justice. We encourage innovation in global thinking by provoking lively debate and promoting inclusivity among the policy-makers and opinion formers who attend our meetings. Wilton Park provides a neutral environment where conflicting views can be expressed and debated openly and calmly, allowing acceptable compromise and resolution to be achieved. Discussions are non-attributable to encourage frank exchanges and open dialogue. Our 2-3 day meetings allow plenty of time and space to share ideas, creating the ideal atmosphere for open dialogue, thoughtful problem solving and innovative strategy development. As well as roundtable discussions and small working groups, participants particularly benefit from the ample opportunities for informal networking. We regularly recreate our unique style of events at venues around the world. We also hold shorter high-level meetings at central London locations, such as our 90 Minute Dialogues, Wilton Park Address and Jubilee Dialogues. Wilton Park's first discussions took place in 1946 when leading British figures and prominent Germans focused on how to restore democracy in post-war Germany. Our reputation as a world leading discussion centre has grown over nearly seven decades, as we have pursued our original objective: to address and resolve global challenges.
