Our team at Pro Bikes shares one philosophy: make cycling part of a healthy lifestyle in the communities we serve. Whether you’re new to cycling, are heavily addicted, or have been away for awhile and are returning, we certainly do understand you, since at one time or another we all have shared these experiences. If you’re new or returning to cycling, we know it can sometimes be a bit overwhelming and intimidating with all of the different categories of bikes and equipment! Let us help you find the right bike in the correct size for where you want to ride that fits into your budget. We can also help you budget for and select the “must have†equipment like helmets, and necessities to repair a flat, and “should haves†like proper clothing, glasses and other essentials. Much of what we’ll provide for you is knowledge about what to anticipate as you begin planning your cycling lifestyle. With our ever-expanding Rails to Trails system in the Pittsburgh and surrounding area, many new and returning cyclists are finding exploring this vast network to be a very satisfying experience. It's an enjoyable way to spend some wonderful time outdoors getting some exercise and seeing the sites with friends and family. The truly great thing about cycling is that it can be, and is for many, a lifelong activity. Proof of this can be seen with age group racers still competing well into their late 80s and early 90s! Many Pro Bikes employees compete in race events ranging from road racing and time trials, to mountain biking, triathlons, cyclocross and many other cycling disciplines. We are genuinely interested and heavily involved ourselves, so we certainly understand, appreciate and support our local racing community.
