Welch Foods produces Welch's juices and jellies as the operating subsidiary of the National Grape Cooperative Association. Welch's was founded in 1869 by Dr. Thomas Bramwell Welch who was looking for a way to make communion wine. Welch's later gained widespread fame during Prohibition as an alternative to wine. Today, the company sells more than 400 products throughout the US and more than 35 other countries worldwide. Welch's also produces grape-based products under the BAMA brand name.
