Penumbra is one of Scotland's largest mental health charities, supporting around 1000 people each week in 19 local authority areas.
Penumbra provides hope and the possibility of a fulfilling life for people with mental health problems. Working across Scotland we provide a range of recovery focused services for adults and young people who experience mental health problems.
Penumbra has developed I.ROC (individual recovery outcomes counter) - an innovative 12 question self-assessment focusing on recovery. I.ROC is already in use across 10 organisations in the UK and has been the subject of significant international interest. Testing is currently underway in Spain and the Netherlands to create translated versions with the possibility of a German version at a later date. Services in the USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand are also keen to use the tool.
