Troy Cablevision was started in 1973 by visionary Harold Freeman. The original business provided cable service to residents of Troy and Pike County, Alabama. Following Troy's buyout to TCI of Alabama — and the expiration of a 3-year non-compete agreement, Harold restarted the Troy Cable franchise to expand his offering of cable services to underserved areas in Alabama.
