Corindus was founded in 2002 by Prof. Rafael Beyar, MD and Mr. Tal Wenderow and opened its headquarters in the US in 2005. The company designs, manufactures and commercializes Remote Robotic systems for interventional procedures. The Corindus flagship product, CorPath™ , enables the physician to perform catheterization procedures from a remote location beyond the radiation zone. The system mechanically advances and torques cardiology devices through patients' arteries as specified by the physician at a remote workstation. The CorPath™ system patented technology utilizes standard femoral access and fluoroscopic control similar to traditional practice. Unique to CorPath™ is the simplicity and ease with which it can be integrated into existing Cath Lab systems. CorPath is an open platform which accepts all approved devices.
