The Massachusetts legislature approved the conversion of LLJUA to HMIC in June 2008, recognizing the greater benefit that could be provided if insurance from LLJUA were available to all businesses in the Commonwealth. In 2010, HMIC expanded its operations and formed Hospitality Insurance Company (HIC), which allowed us to extend our operations out of Massachusetts. HIC now writes business in the states of Connecticut, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
