About
WMPC ensures that children removed from their homes by Kent County MDHHS due to abandonment, abuse, or neglect are placed in safe, family-like settings with culturally responsive and trauma-informed services. Valuing reunification and family preservation, WMPC and its partner agencies seek to strengthen and empower families, increasing reunifications and decreasing the time children spend in the child welfare system. WMPC prioritizes placing children with relatives and procuring adoption services only when return to home is not possible. WMPC is transparent and accountable to its community and stakeholders for improving the lives of children in Kent County. In solidarity with the people most affected by the child welfare system, we are partners in this journey to create better futures for children.
