Founded in 1802, Pickersgill Retirement Community is named after one of its early board presidents, Mary Pickersgill, the seamstress who sewed the flag that flew over Fort McHenry during the War of 1812 that inspired Frances Scott Key to write The Star-Spangled Banner. Pickersgill is the rare community that can claim it has proudly served Baltimore-area seniors for more than two centuries.
