The Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University promotes and produces innovative research and scholarship, exemplary teaching and training, robust public engagement, and generous support of individual faculty initiatives at the intersection of law and religion. CSLR's work is three-dimensional, focused on religious perspectives, legal perspectives, and interdisciplinary methods. From 2018 - 2025, CSLR will continue its focus on Law and Judaism; Law and Christianity; Law and Islam; and Law, Religion, and Human Rights. Additionally, CSLR will establish new focus areas: Law, Religion, and Jurisprudence; Law, Religion, and Social Justice; and Law, Religion, and Health. Our mission is to produce and promote path-breaking scholarship, teaching, and public programs on the interaction of law and religion around the world. The vision of the Center for the Study of Law and Religion is to be a thought leader dedicated to producing innovative scholarship, facilitating challenging conversations, convening the best minds, and training the next generation of academics, lawyers, and religious leaders to advance the global conversation on law and religion.
