HFAP is the nation's original healthcare accrediting organization, founded in 1945 by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and awarded deeming authority by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) at the time that agency was established in 1965.
In 2020, HFAP became of a brand of Accreditation Commission for Health Care. The historic merger opened new possibilities for healthcare providers across the continuum of care. The merger unites two established stewards of quality care and patient safety and gives organizations a superior, comprehensive source to meet accreditation needs.
As one company under ACHC, we offer an extensive range of accreditation and certification options for hospitals, laboratories, and community-based providers, affording a seamless, convenient way to achieve and maintain recognition.
