CFCU was chartered to serve the financial needs of federal government employees in the Cleveland, Ohio area.
1972
Converted from hand posting to a batch computer system with SBC.
1973
Opened our first branch office at NASA.
1979
CFCU was authorized to participate in the Ohio Student Loan program.
1980
Century expanded their offices on the seventh floor of the Federal Building to more than 3,000 square feet.
Century was given authority to receive direct deposit of members' net pay or social security checks.
Century was authorized to offer share drafts to members.
1982
Century implemented its Direct Deposit program. Eliminating long lines!
Century's assets stood at $20,800,000, a $2,000,000 increase over the previous year.
1983
Century received approval from the NCUA to include employees of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland into the credit union membership.
1984
The teller office in the federal building relocated from room #137 to room #183.
1987
Century assets grew to over $45 million.
1988
In-house computer system up and running.
Century celebrated its 40th anniversary.
Call 24 voice response system installed.
1995
CFCU added over 700 new members including 200 from the merger of Double Seal FCU at Dairymens.
1997
CFCU ranked among the top 5 credit unions nationwide based upon return to member index.
1999
CFCU began the process to upgrade financial software.
2004
CFCU assets grew to $186 million.
2005
Lyndhurst branch opened.
CFCU recognized as one of the 99 Best Employers on the North Coast.
CFCU implements new Cross Sell Manager Software in December.
2006
CFCU welcomed approximately 200 new members through the B&O Employees FCU merger.
CFCU adds approximately 250 members through merger with Menorah Federal CU.
2007
CFCU assets grew to over $200 million.
CFCU recognized as one of the 99 Best Employers on the North Coast for the 3rd year.
2008
CFCU welcomed 2500 new members through the Sherwin-Williams Employees Federal Credit Union merger.
