The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans service organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers 2 million members, men and women, in about 13,000 American Legion posts worldwide.
The nation's oldest operating post, we are a progressive, proactive & engaged group of Veterans of all ages who believe in the obligations and concerns as expressed in the Preamble to the Constitution of The American Legion - and especially in the words of the Constitution of The United States of America.
