About
Solon began manufacturing pressure controls shortly after moving to its current location in Chardon, Ohio in 1960 and has been servicing industrial users ever since. Solon has a reputation for high quality products for use in difficult environments from supplying low pressure differential pressure switches for nuclear safety related applications to high pressure petro-chemical applications. When the call came to build the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from Prudhoe Bay to the port of Valdez, Alaska, Solon was the principal supplier of Pressure Switches. Solon has continued this tradition by supplying equipment for monitoring gas density and pressure to electric utilities and heavy industry around the world. Today, the Solon Industrial Controls Division manufactures a complete line of industrial pressure switches such as Vacuum, Differential, Hydraulic, Bellows Actuated, Diaphragm Actuated, Piston Actuated, Explosion Proof, Gauge Indicating and Density Switches for use in SF6 high voltage circuit breakers. Steady growth has resulted from a continual updating of our engineering, production and inspection techniques. This regular improvement allows standard switches to be engineered, assembled, fully tested, and shipped with very short lead times when necessary. It is not unusual for the customer to receive a switch the day after it was ordered. We also produce specials not listed in this catalog to meet unique needs of our customers. By combining standard components with a limited number of custom parts, we can offer specialized switches at a reasonable cost and short lead times. Solon's "Can Do" attitude produces reliability of product, delivery and service.
