NEL Fund Managers is an employee owned fund management company, committed to providing tailored funding solutions to small and medium-sized businesses and enabling the sustainable growth of the local economy through mission-led impact investing. Our current funds under management, the £18m Growth Capital Fund and the £9m Small Loan Fund, offer ambitious businesses in the North East LEP area the opportunity to secure up to £500,000 to accelerate their growth potential. The Growth Capital and Small Loan Funds are part of the overarching £120m North East Fund, set up to provide financial support for more than 600 businesses, creating around 3,500 jobs and delivering a legacy of up to £80m for further investment into the region. Since incorporating in 1989, NEL has successfully invested and fully realised 12 funds. These mission-led investment funds have offered a range of debt, mezzanine and equity finance to businesses across all life stages, from university spin-outs and start-ups to succession takeovers and scale-ups.
