Spokane County United Way mobilizes our community to create measurable results that improve people's lives.
Spokane County United Way works to create the future we all want to see - a more educated, prosperous and healthy community.
Our work with others is focused on eliminating inequities in education, income and health experienced by low-income and diverse populations. Creating pathways out of poverty, stabilizing families, supporting social and emotional health, and achieving educational success are all critical for long lasting change.
We create positive community change by collaborating with others, building capacity, coordinating community efforts, and investing in programs to get things done.
Through local data we know our community is facing challenges in the areas of education, income and health. We know that students of color and students from low income homes are not graduating at the same rate as their peers. We know that each year more community members are living in poverty. When we look at the health of our community we know that our local child abuse and neglect rates and domestic violence rates are higher than the state average.
Spokane County United Way has a vision for the year 2020 - our community will reduce the educational achievement gap by 50%, reverse the poverty trend line, and decrease levels of abuse, neglect and unhealthy behaviors in Spokane County.
Join us, join our vision for a more educated, prosperous and healthy community.
