Our history dates back to the early 1920’s when James and Mary Pearl Wathen moved to California’s Central Valley, from Kentucky and brought with them a family tradition of craftsmanship. Their enterprising sons began building sub-divisions in the 1950’s, establishing their companies Wathen Brothers and Mansionette Homes. This set the foundation for the next generation, Rich Wathen Jr. and Kevin Castanos, to continue the family legacy of home building.\nCousins Rich Wathen and Kevin Castanos started what we know today as Wathen Castanos Homes. The two partnered to bring innovative land planning and family-centric home designs to Central California. Together, they built their largest project in the master planned community Harlan Ranch and brought the first zero net electric homes to the Central Valley. These achievements paved their way to national recognition and awards such as the National Housing Quality Award, the Energy Value Housing Award and the Eliant Customer Satisfaction Award.\nIn 2014, Wathen Castanos Homes transferred ownership to three seasoned homebuilders with more than 75 years combined experience in home construction. Peter Castanos, Josh Peterson, and Freddie Logue are committed to the same high-quality craftsmanship and company values set in place by the founders’ decades ago. With an unwavering focus on customer service and quality design, the Wathen Castanos team works hard to build lasting relationships and houses you will love to call home.\nLocations Wathen Castanos Homes is building communities includes Clovis, Fresno, Visalia, Tulare, Monterey Bay and the Central Coast.
