The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing is a world-class centre that specialises in carrying out world-leading research into advanced machining,
manufacturing and materials for aerospace and other high-value manufacturing sectors. It is a partnership between industry and academia, which has become a model for research centres worldwide.
The AMRC with Boeing is dedicated to working with manufacturing businesses, from global aerospace giants to local SMEs. We work with over 100 member companies which pay an annual fee to access our resources and expertise, and with hundreds of other companies on specific R&D projects.
The AMRC with Boeing now employs over 400 highly qualified researchers and engineers from around the globe, in two purpose-built centres on the Advanced Manufacturing Park in South Yorkshire. The AMRC with Boeing is also part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, backed by the Technology Strategy Board.
The University of Sheffield AMRC also includes our sister centre, the Nuclear AMRC; the AMRC Training Centre; Castings Technology International (Cti); NAMTEC (National Metals Technology Centre), Medical AMRC and the AMRC Knowledge Transfer Centre (KTC).
