Cowen Truck Line, Inc. was founded in 1972 by Robert and Lavone Cowen. Bob Cowen had been an independent owner operator for twenty years prior to starting the company in 1972 with two tractors and three trailers. Mr. Cowen continued as one of the drivers until the company grew and was incorporated in 1977. In 1980 Tim Cowen, Bob & Lavone's son joined the company after completing college.
