Carolina Ballet is made up of a company of 31 professional dancers and four apprentices from around the world. This season, for the first time, the company also has three trainees. Artistic director Robert Weiss calls the company a virtual mini-United Nations with 13 different nationalities being represented. Aside from the United States, these countries are Moldavia, Hungary, Cuba, Uruguay, Canada, China, Paraguay, Russia, the Ukraine, France, the United Kingdom, and Romania where one of the ballet masters is a very famous former dancer.
