About
When you walk through the doors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Skagit County you will most likely hear a lot of laughter. Depending on the time of day, you will also see young people building friendships, doing homework, working on STEM projects, engaging in activities and sharing their thoughts and dreams with Staff and volunteers. Mostly, it looks like a lot of fun. Well, it is. What most people don’t see (we plan it this way) is the intentional guidance and instruction that is part of every interaction, every game, every program and every activity – every day. We serve youth ages 6-18 from every community in Skagit County at our Club sites in Anacortes, Burlington (summer), Concrete, Mount Vernon & Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Each of our Clubs & our staff provide over 1,700 Members—600 attending each day—with a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals, life-enhancing programs, character development experiences, and hope & opportunity. Our eight Clubs join with Boys & Girls Clubs around the globe to utilize the Formula for Impact to positively impact the lives of young people in our communities using targeted, data-driven programs that focus on Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
