The Northeast’s Leader in Cultural Resource Management since 1973. Hartgen Archeological Associates has a track record of over 5,000 successfully completed cultural resource studies. With offices in New York and Vermont, our qualified staff is available for projects throughout the Northeast. Our team of dedicated cultural resource professionals includes a project management staff of about twenty-five archaeologists and architectural historians, a laboratory staff of three archaeologists and collection managers, a mapping staff of three CAD-GIS professionals, and a hard-working field staff of ten to twenty archaeologists. Our staff is well versed in cultural resource regulations including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and state historic preservation law in New York (Section 14.09) and Vermont (Act 250). Project oversight is provided by our 36 CFR 61 qualified Principal Investigators. We offer a range of archaeological and architectural history services to guide clients through the requirements of national and state historic preservation laws. Our clients come from the public and private sectors, including federal and state agencies, municipalities, engineering and architectural firms, developers, preservation groups, and non-profit organizations. Hartgen is a member firm of the American Cultural Resources Association (ACRA) and has been inducted into the New York State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Hall of Fame.
