The Clara White Mission, Inc. (CWM) is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. CWM was founded by Eartha M.M. White; daughter of former slave, Clara White, in 1904, and incorporated in 1936. Our mission statement is " to prevent and reduce homelessness through advocacy, housing, job training and employment, all accomplished through our partnerships within the community". For more than a century, CWM has served the homeless and low-income in Jacksonville, with an emphasis on helping veterans in need. Our stablizing programs are designed to identify the needs with a one-stop community development center offering outreach services in education, job training, job creation, life skills and personal counseling. Our core program is our daily breakfast service; providing nutritious meals to over 500 homeless individuals, 7 days a week. Our motto is "Food for Today, Skills for Life".
