Housing New Zealand is the biggest provider of homes for those in need in this country. The numbers are quite staggering — we own and manage over 65,000 homes throughout the country and affect the lives of around 193,000 people who call our houses home. Our business is all about those 193,000 people (our customers) who have a need — either short or long term — for a place to call home. Part of our business work with our customers to ensure their stay in one of our homes is as smooth and uneventful as possible. That can mean anything from keeping an eye on the next rent payment through to making sure a broken window is fixed quickly and with the minimum of fuss. Another part of our business is looking ahead and designing and building homes for the future as well as making sure our existing homes are right for our current customers. Anyone who has seen one of our latest homes being built will know that it is not your typical state house. In many ways it is not even your typical new house as we ensure that each home is fully insulated and fitted with curtains, carpeted where needed, fully fenced so little ones can play safely and equipped with more smoke alarms that you can count. We do all this to provide every one of our customers with the best home and best experience we can offer. Because, at the end of the day, that’s what’s important to us.
