About
Anitox Corp. was founded in 1977 by Dr. Bob Bland, a research scientist with Celanese Chemical Company. While at Celanese, Dr. Bland had spent nearly a decade studying molds and toxins in animal feeds. He was looking for a method to control or reduce mold contamination in feeds. This research led to the development of MonoProp® Mold Killer, the most effective product available to control molds in animal feeds. Celanese did not want to market the product, but allowed Dr. Bland to resign and take the product with him. Anitox was incorporated in Corpus Christi, Texas, and began using toll-production facilities in Atlanta, Georgia. Almost immediately, Dr. Bland found an international market for his patented mold inhibitor. During his first year, he shipped MonoProp to Taiwan and Portugal, as well as within the United States. By 1980, Anitox had bought land and built a production facility in Buford, Georgia. On this 26 acre site Anitox built three production plants, world headquarters, and a research and development center. In August 2000, Anitox relocated the World Headquarters to a state-of-the-art facility in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Now, production, laboratories, and corporate management are all housed under one roof. Anitox\'s product line has also expanded over the last three decades, with additions of liquid mold inhibitors, water additives, mycotoxin absorbers, avian antibodies, and the latest breakthrough in Salmonella Control, Termin-8® Antimicrobial Food Additive. In April 1996, Anitox Received FDA Approval, allowing the sale of Termin-8 to prevent Salmonella contamination in poultry feeds and to protect against recontamination for up to 14 days. In October 1998 Anitox received approval for use of Termin-8 in all types of animal feeds and feed ingredients. Dr. Bland died November 12, 1996, while on a business trip in Minneapolis, MN. On Monday November 18, 1996, Marsha Clark was named President of Anitox Corp. by the Anitox Board of Directors. Marsha is a Certified Public Accountant, (CPA). For 3 1/2 years prior to becoming President of Anitox Corp., she had been the Director of Finance at Anitox Ltd., European Headquarters, a fully owned subsidiary of Anitox Corp., located in Earls Barton, England. A 1978 graduate of Texas A&M University, Marsha also has 15 years of management experience in the electric utility industry. In 2007, Anitox announced the completion of an investment in Anitox by The Riverside Company. Riverside is a private equity firm that invests in fast-growing, strong companies and works with management to enhance that growth and build companies\' capabilities and customer offerings. The firm was attracted to Anitox by its industry leadership and strong financial performance. This transaction enabled the Anitox management team to generate new business in an expanding market while improving its already high level of customer service. The commitment of investment capital will also fund innovative research and development, as well as enhance Anitox\'s manufacturing and delivery of products. Anitox also announced the appointment of Glyn Richards as President and Chief Executive Officer. Richards\' 25-year management career spans manufacturing, distribution and financial industries. Based in Lawrenceville, Georgia, today Anitox manufactures and markets product around the world from facilities in Lawrenceville, Georgia; Russellville, Arkansas; Earls Barton, UK, Mexico, and Malaysia and holds six patents in the U.S. and equivalent registrations in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Japan. Building on Clean Feed Technology, future plans are to continue serving existing customers at the highest level, while developing new products and technologies to expand and grow the company in line with worldwide customer needs and expectations.
