Our Mission
Working with our compassionate community, we will end pet homelessness and animal suffering.
About Us
The Dumb Friends League is the largest community-based animal welfare organization in the Rocky Mountain region. We are a leader in:
Providing humane care to lost and relinquished pets
Adopting companion animals and horses to new homes
Rescuing sick, injured, abused and neglected animals
Offering training and advice to help pets stay in homes
Reducing pet overpopulation
Educating children and adults about compassion for animals
Each year, we welcome more than 20,000 homeless pets to our shelters. At our main shelter in southeast Denver and our Buddy Center is in Castle Rock, Cats, dogs, rabbits and other small pets enjoy the comfort of a nurturing environment in state-of-the-art facilities. No animals are turned away.
The Dumb Friends League Harmony Equine Center near Franktown takes in abused and neglected horses, ponies, mules and donkeys that have been removed from owners by law enforcement authorities. Here, they find relief from suffering and opportunities for rehabilitation and adoption.
