Since its inception in 1973 Sonoscan has been the industry leader and innovator in AMI technology. The family of instruments that Sonoscan has developed and manufactures covers the entire gamut of needs to nondestructively inspect and analyze products (especially microelectronic devices). Originally licensed through Zenith Radio Corporation, Sonoscan introduced the world’s first commercially available AMI system, the Scanning Laser Acoustic Microscope (SLAM), in 1975 and, thereby, ushering in an important new field - AMI.
