About
Pollmeier stands for decades of experience in solid wood production and economics. Environmentally friendly production processes and the purchase from sustainable managed forests have a high priority for us. In 1987 the ᅢᄁ¬ツᆲᅤᄒPollmeier Leimholz GmbH ᅢᄁ¬ツᆲᅤモwas founded in Rietberg, where edge-glued panels made of spruce, pine, beech, oak and alder were produced. To ensure a constant and high-quality wood supply, the first sawmill opened in Creuzburg in 1996. With a globally rising demand in solid beech wood, the company could steadily be expanded, and additional productions sites came to life. (2000 Malchow, 2007 Aschaffenburg) In 2011 the Malchow sawmill was shut down due to a lack of round wood supply and decreased demand. The director, Ralf Pollmeier therefore concentrated on the development of a new engineered wood product: beech laminated veneer lumber. The so-called BauBuche is produced in Creuzburg since 2014 and due to its outstanding strength values, it enables architects, engineers and builders to work with significantly decreased cross-sections in comparison to conventional soft-wood products. In early 2019 Pollmeier started the production of spruce laminated veneer lumber (LVL), in addition to the hardwood LVL at its Creuzburg headquarters.
