Vermont Legal Aid helps to ensure that one of the founding principles of this country remains alive: justice for all, not just for the few who can afford it. We provide free civil legal services to people throughout Vermont, primarily those with low incomes or who meet the income and eligibility guidelines for each of our projects: Disability Law Project Elder Law Project Office of the Health Care Advocate Housing Discrimination Law Project Long Term Care Ombudsman Project Mental Health Law Project Poverty Law Project We work to address the causes of poverty, discrimination and inequality through legal representation, community education, public policy and legislative advocacy. We support diversity of thought, culture, and life experience among our staff and our community. We believe that everyone in Vermont should have equal and fair access to legal services.
